New Manager Orientation

The new manager orientation session introduces new leaders to the School of Medicine expectations, policies, procedures and philosophy. The session targets School of Medicine employees who have recently been promoted, as well as new employees in the roles of supervisor, manager or director.

The new manager orientation is divided into three sessions:

  • Part I topics include the School of Medicine culture, managerial expectations, recruitment and selection, and compensation.
  • Part II focuses on time off, performance assessment, and employee communications.
  • Part III emphasizes leadership.

Participants are required to attend all three sessions to receive credit for completion. This orientation is a prerequisite to Civil Treatment® for Managers Training (CTM).
